Welcome to L. Smith Arts
I have had a lifelong appreciation for the arts and a passion for creating art for as long as I can remember. This personal connection with the visual and performing arts has guided me in my life work as an educator as well as a practicing artist.
The process of creating works of art requires creative thinking and being able to see the world from multiple perspectives. All humans have this ability and it is just a matter of finding this passion within yourself. Through art we can capture those special experiences and those memorable moments that have a special meaning to each of us.

Holidays in Minster
Oil on Canvas 18 x 24 Inches
Inspired while driving by the Wooden Shoe Restaurant, (shown on the right), on a snowy evening in December and seeing the joyful patrons coming and going. This scene was highlighted by the beautiful sky and atmosphere and the Christmas lights.
It brought a sense of peace and holiday spirit that has always been special during the Holidays.

The University of Dayton Chapel and its bright blue dome is a well known image to past and current students and faculty members. I have painted the U.D. Chapel in many different ways and have prints on fine art paper, ceramic tiles and slate tiles.
